UTVs have the tendency to build up an impressive layer of mud and dirt after only one ride. While you don’t need to wash your UTV after every trip, it’s still important to give your machine a good scrub every once in a while to keep it in good condition. If you’ve never washed a UTV before, we encourage you to read through our article below for a list of tools and helpful instructions on how to get the job done.

Gather Your Tools

Before you get started, you’ll need to grab a few helpful tools to get your UTV spick and span. A sponge, stiff brush, and small scraping tool are all key to getting the various muck and mud removed from your UTV. We also advise having a high-pressure water hose on hand to help remove caked-on mud and using a bottle of bike soap or automotive detergent to wash your UTV once the worst of the grime is gone.

Rinsing Your UTV

In order to remove stuck-on mud and debris, it’s extremely important to rinse your UTV again and again, till the majority of the dirt is washed away. While a high-pressure hose will certainly help clear away most of the grime, you'll also need to use your small scraping tool to remove the rest of the build-up.

Washing Your UTV

Once the worst of the muck is rinsed away, you’ll want to grab your stiff scrub brush and some soap and work away at your vehicle’s smaller parts, such as your grill or tire rims. Once these are taken care of, you can grab your large sponge and set to work sudsing up the body of your UTV. Quickly rinse it down once you’re done and allow your UTV to completely dry out in the sun before placing it in storage.
